Our next meeting will not be held at the Air Cadet building,
instead we will be
holding a welding demonstration at John Ross
School in Guelph, on March
22nd. Some of you may remember holding
a meeting there about a year ago.
KW-RAA member Mike Shave
teaches at J F Ross, and will once again be making
his classroom
and welding shop available. Charlie Miller of Guelph, a welder
well
known among amateur aircraft builders will be demonstrating
the art of welding aircraft 4130 steel tubing. Whether or not you’re
building a steel tube fuselage, this will be a very educational
experience.
Directions to J F Ross School are as follows:
From Waterloo Airport, go north through Breslau to Highway 7; turn
right and go east on Highway 7 to Guelph. Once in Guelph you are on
Woodlawn Ave; continue on Woodlawn across the top of the city to
Victoria Road; turn right and go southeast on Victoria to Eramosa
Road; turn right at Eramosa and go south. Immediately past Meyer
Drive (on your left), is the parking lot to J F Ross School. Across
the street (on your right) is Bullfrog Mall with a Tim Horton’s sign
out by the street. If you reach the Stephenson Street Intersection,
and see a Zellers on your left you’ve gone too far. At the end of
the parking lot look for a very tall outside shop dust collector
cylinder; from there the school door is just to your
right.
See you there,
Paul
